UNV Programme and its achievements at Inspectorate of Government(commonly known as IGG).

The purpose of this is to enlighten you with the  role of UNVs in supporting  the  main objective of IGG to strive towards the reduction of corruption and mal- administration in public offices through improved accountability ,transparency and good governance

THE MISSION OF INSPECTORATE OF GOVERNMENT

To promote good governance through removal of corruption , mismanagement and administrative injustice from public offices.

MEASURES USED BY IGG TO CARRY OUT ITS FUNCTIONS

IN ITS CONTINUOUS EFFORT TO FIGHT CORRUPTION AND PROMOTE GOOD GOVERNANCE , IGG CONTINUES TO USE TWO PRONGED APPROACH.THESE ARE:

1. Enforcement Of Leadership Code Of Conduct And;
2. Investigations Into Cases Of Corruption, Abuse Of Office And Authority And Mal-Administration  And Prosecutions Of Officials At Fault.

ROLE OF UNVs IN THE INSPECTORATE OF GOVERNMENT (IGG):   BESIDE  DIRECTLY ASSISTING THE INSPECTORATE OF GOVERNMENT IN ITS INVESTIGATION INTO HIGH-PROFILE CASES

unvs are currently supporting both the operational and legal functions of igg.

-     unvs are continuously reviewing the auditor general’s report on various public accounts and advising the inspectorate of government accordingly,. based on their findings;

  -   unvs are continuously advising the inspectorate of government on various legal issues related to cases/complaints;

-     imparting both induction and on-the-job training to the igg staff on operational and legal matters;

-     investigating/assisting in investigation of high profile cases on corruption.

• Unv Programme Is Supporting Inspectorate Of Government In Its Crusade Against Corruption Through Investigation And Enforcement Of Cases.

• Unvs Involvement In Iggs Functions Adds Value to Its Independence Image, For the Public.

• Unv Programme Helps Inspectorate to Work More Effectively In Its both Legal and Operational Function

• Unv Programme Should Include More Areas Of Cooperation At Igg So That Back Log Of Cases Can Be Reduced.
